Tasty Pizza Casserole
Enjoy with a glass of Barrel-Select Noiret wine.
- 1 pound ground beef
1/2 large onion, finely chopped
1 (24 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce
1 (14 oz.) jar pizza sauce
12 oz. fusilli pasta, cooked and drained, per package directions
4 cups (16 ounces) shredded Italian blend cheese
6 ounces sliced pepperoni
8 ounces sliced white mushrooms
In a skillet, over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until meat is no longer pink. Add sliced mushrooms, and cook until mushrooms are softened and cooked. Stir in spaghetti and pizza sauces and drained pasta.
Spread half of the meat/pasta mixture in the bottom of a 13 in x 9 in baking dish. Sprinkle 2 cups shredded cheese over this layer, top with half of the sliced pepperoni. Add remaining meat/pasta mixture, sprinkle remaining 2 cups shredded cheese over this layer, and top with the remaining pepperoni. Bake uncovered, at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until heated through.
